The current contract for Diagnostic systems in London is projected to end on 24/4/2018 and may be available for re-tender.The current contract for Diagnostic systems in London included:— small bench top next generation sequencers with maintenance and bespoke consumables. We are looking at purchasing three in the next year with a likelihood of another two over the next three years. Should the technology prove successful it is possible an additional 6 instruments could be acquired for use in the agency’s regional laboratories,— high throughput NGS platform with maintenance and bespoke consumables. For this lot we are looking at the purchase of two machines, one immediately and one within the following twelve months. It is possible that a third machine may also be acquired at a later date,— supply of consumables. We are expecting to start with seven 96 well plates per week for high throughput and two 8 sample runs per week for low throughput.Additionally NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) intend to purchase 2 low throughput machines this year with the potential to purchase a further machines later. Please note that all these systems are still subject to budgetary approval.
