Merseyrail to begin final phase of track renewal

This work shows the replacement of the concrete slab track on the Merseyrail Network. The final phase will begin in January 2017. This work is undertaken in narrow single bore tunnels that are more than 40 metres underground and measure 4.7 metres in width and 4.1 metres in height. Liverpool is one of only four British cities to have an underground network.
