A-Plant places £35 Million order with JCB
A-Plant has placed its largest order this year with JCB in an investment totalling £35 million. The company has purchased more than 1,200 new JCB machines, including a number of JS130 13-tonne tracked excavators, JCB’s latest machine with a multitude of efficiency, performance and safety innovations.
The order with JCB comprises mini excavators, Loadalls, site dumpers, rough terrain forklifts, generators and the JS130 excavators which utilise JCB’s brand new Stage IV/Tier 4F Ecomax engine and provide lower running costs with fuel savings of up to 10%. A-Plant now offers a large fleet of JS130 excavators nationwide totalling £7 million.
Many of the new JCB machines have already been delivered to A-Plant Service Centres across the UK and are available to hire. This latest order comes on the back of a £50 million order that A-Plant placed with JCB last year for around 1,500 machines, which represented one of the largest orders that JCB has ever won in the company’s history.
A-Plant’s Marketing Director Asif Latief commented: “This order is part of our investment programme to ensure our customers continue to get the most advanced, reliable, safe and environmentally friendly equipment. This year’s investment also includes 39 sets of JCB Broadcrown generators, which is a first for A-Plant and recognises their commitment to developing quality new products. Our order also included more JS130 13-tonne excavators allowing A-Plant to meet customer demand within the market.
“Our investment programme is unrivalled in the industry, this coupled with the high levels of customer support we provide, ensures that whether it’s a local builder, events supplier or national contractor, we are firmly positioned to be the obvious choice for rental equipment.”
The order has been placed through dealer Greenshields JCB, with whom A-Plant has traded for over 25 years. Every single machine will be UK-manufactured at JCB’s Staffordshire factories in Rocester, Uttoxeter and Cheadle. Machines such as JS130 excavators allow customers to meet demanding Stage IV/Tier 4F legislation without the need to use a bulky Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).
