Opinion on the UK market compared to the Indian market
In the fields of planning, architecture and interior design there are huge variations across the world. There is always some kind of development going on in the towns and cities we live in, however, there is a vast difference between the Indian and UK markets.
The housing market in India has changed drastically due to new legislation that the government has brought in. Developers and Builders now have to follow stringent measures when delivering the projects. Demonetisation has also curbed the black market in the industry. Therefore, in India there is good scope to do honest business. However, currently there is a recession in the housing market and many small and medium size developers are closing down. This recession is temporary though and the market should pick up again in couple of years after adjusting to the new legislation.
In UK these challenges already have been streamlined and there is a huge demand for housing in the UK. However, the UK is also going through a lot of political turmoil with Brexit talks and the recently held election. Therefore, although there is a demand, people are hesitant to invest in the housing market. On the one hand the UK is breaking away from the European Union, whilst on the other there are possible new ties developing between the UK and Indian markets.
Both these countries will grow in a mutually beneficial way and the UK government has already engaged with India in the smart city mission announced by PM Narendra Modi.
