K500, Germany, 2013
In August 2013 Krøll delivered this K5000 to Lürssen Werft in Bremen. The crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 250 tonnes at 19.6 metre radius and the
maximum tip load of the 60 metre jib is 59 tonnes. Germany regulations dictate that the crane has to be tested with 25% overload. This meant that the crane was overload-tested with 312.5 tonnes making it the heaviest ever lift by a hammerhead tower crane!
The crane is currently static but the bottom mast section is prepared for mounting the crane on a rail-going undercarriage.
