According to a report conducted by Lloyds Commercial Banking Group on the housing sector, more than a third of construction companies operating in the sector have reported a lack of qualified candidates to fill professional roles.
The report revealed that the skills shortage is highly prevalent amongst site managers (34%), project managers (33%) and quantity surveyors (31%). These figures represent the whole market from SME contractors up to major national developers.
