Cornwall Housing choose Acrypol
When it came to finding a waterproofing solution to its flats on Salamanca Street in Torpoint, Cornwall Housing turned to Acrypol Products– the market-leading manufacturer of cold applied liquid waterproofing and slip resistant coatings.
Cornwall Housing is owned by local authority, Cornwall Council, and is responsible for managing and maintaining 10500 council homes. They recognised Acrypol as the best option to carry out repairs on its properties.
Acrypol undertook work on the 50sq m of walkways plus treatment for stairs. The Company specified Quartzdek as the most suitable product from its range of waterproofing products.
Quartzdek combines high performance waterproofing with an anti-slip resistant surface. Using real quartz granules, Quartzdek improves both the look and waterproofing integrity of balconies, walkways, exterior stairs, risers and even roof gardens.
The product was applied to concrete, which underwent minor repairs beforehand. A Quartzdek sealer was initially applied before grey Quartzdek was used alongside highlighted yellow nosings in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Work was undertaken both early in the morning and late at night to minimise inconvenience to tenants gaining access and exiting their homes.
The project took just over a week to complete.
