That eternal “Room Integrity” riddle solved at last by Bryland

When the UK branch was moving premises recently, they quickly realised, before they moved into their new premises that they would have no Fire Protection for their Server Room. As a subsidiary of the worldwide FIAT Group, this would present rather a large risk to say the least.

The space they had designated as a Server Room, whilst the ideal size and location, had very poor integrity, which would involve extensive building modifications including a new ceiling to make it seal with a traditional gas (FM-200 was their first thought as found on their old site).

Traditional gas systems such as FM-200 need the room to be gas tight with very minimal leakage for the gas to work (think of water in a fish tank).

On initial inspection, the room was absolutely ideal for the Condensed Aerosol system. When a fire is detected, it emits a MIST, NOT A GAS which means that the room pressure does not change significantly and more importantly it does not need the room to be gas tight to be able to work.

• No Stored Pressure, so no weekly cylinder pressure checks
• 15 Year lifetime compared with 10 years for gas
• No footprint, pipework or nozzles to consider
