
Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) Facility, Essex
Nationwide Platforms was selected to provide working at height support on the £171million construction of a new Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) facility in the South East.
The agreement saw the powered access leader provide a range of products and services designed to ensure “best practice” on every application taking place at height. This included providing powered access equipment, safety innovations, technical and engineering support and corporate responsibility benefits.

• The access leader provided up to 70 machines on-site, including specialist indoor and rough terrain equipment
• Nationwide Platforms provided an on-site stock of machines to enable contractors and suppliers to continue with work at height through day and night, with a range of electric equipment made available to reduce noise on overnight applications
• Nationwide Platforms also provided its exclusive range of safety and productivity innovations in line with Balfour Beatty’s powered access safety policy. This included its secondary guarding system, SkySiren®, as well as a range of attachments designed to support material handling at height
• Weekly engineering checks and engineering support was made available to site, helping ensure the greatest levels of equipment availability by minimising downtime
• As a preferred supplier to the site, Nationwide Platforms was able to provide logistical and environmental benefits by combining deliveries and offering a large and comprehensive on-site stock of units
