XS CAD Launches ‘MEP Design’ Service

As a market leader, XS CAD has provided pre-construction planning, BIM and 3D modelling solutions and services to a number of engineering and architectural firms for the last 15 years. The company is now pleased to announce the introduction of electrical, mechanical, public health and fire protection design services to building services engineers, designers and consultants. The new Building Services Design offering is provided by an experienced LEED accredited team of electrical and mechanical design engineers who are proficient at designing new and refurbished buildings in the US, UK and Australia.

The MEP (also known as MEPF) sector continues to experience a shortage of skilled and experienced design engineers in key western markets leading to project delays and inflated project costs. The aim for XS CAD is to support the MEP sector with skilled resource teams, while meeting budgetary requirements to ensure a level of profitability that is constantly being challenged.

XS CAD has already started to provide design services to existing customers and works closely to fulfil client-led design requirements, ensuring that design responsibilities for concept, schematic, development and tender stages are carefully managed within the agreed workflow between India based and western based design teams. The XS CAD team has experience of working to western design standards and has experience of using a number of design simulation and energy analysis tools such as Dialux, Camel and Hevacomp.

With so much emphasis on BIM output during the design stage, the design engineering team at XS CAD work closely with XS CAD’s existing 3D, CAD and BIM teams, utilising tools such as Revit MEP and Autodesk Navisworks to create 3D models before validating them in advance of producing design schematics and design layout drawings.

XS CAD’s expectation is that an in-house skill base for both BIM and Design will appeal to a number of engineers in the UK, US, Canada and Australia and it is already speaking to new firms about roll out of the service in the next few months.
