Colmore Tang Construction are a rapidly growing company. With a turnover of over £60 million in the first 2 years of trading they bring a fresh approach to the world of construction. They work in close partnership with their clients to drive down costs whilst maintaining the highest levels of quality.

Working with developers to build & refurbish schemes up to £35 million, Colemore Tang use ConQuest to take off their dimensions from electronic drawings and to create all of the projects bills of quantities to send to their supply chain.

Steven Donaghey, Colmore Tangs Senior Commercial Manager tells us about how they use ConQuest and why there is no point in using anything else. 

“We work for a number of developers and use the ConQuest On Screen Take Off software heavily because it allows us to carry out our take offs so fast.

We get the drawings in, measure them in ConQuest and then use the ConQuest libraries to create all the bills.

All of our packages are sent out to our supply chain so we need to be able to do our take offs accurately and quickly.

It is great that the PDF drawings we receive can be loaded straight into ConQuest and that ConQuest then picks up the vector information in the drawings.  The auto calculation of the areas is a particular time saving feature compared to doing it long hand.’’

 The Landmark, formerly Point North, at the Waterfront canal side complex in Brierley Hill has been refurbished from a deserted office block to over 181 new luxury apartments.  The seven storey office block will consist of 136 one-bed flats, 37 two-beds and eight studios including six luxury rooftop penthouse apartments.

The ConQuest libraries are unique in the estimating software industry, nothing comes close to the speed, flexibility and sheer size of the descriptions, rates and outputs they contain. Steven explains why they use ConQuest:

“All the information you need for your bill descriptions is already in ConQuest and you just click on the required description.  Again this allows us to produce our bills of quantities incredibly quickly.’’

“It is clear that the software saves Colemore Tang a lot of time but what about the day to day running of the system and what happens if they have an issue?

“I can count on one hand the number of issues we have had with the system, anything we phone up about is directed through to support quickly with no problems and everything gets sorted, they are very good.

Using ConQuest for the Landmark Project really helped Colmore Tang. With 10,000 square metres of flooring they needed a good tool to take off and price the internal finishes’’
