Amey awarded multi-million Highways England maintenance contract
A £325M Highways England contract which will boost reliability and resilience along the North West road network has been awarded to Amey.
The 15-year Maintenance and Response Contract will see Amey carry out routine repairs, respond to emergencies and provide severe weather support for more than 300 miles of motorway and major A road. Motorists in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and South Lancashire will benefit from the contract, awarded via Highways England’s Asset Delivery operating model.
Nick Harris is Executive Director of Operations at Highways England. He said: “We recognise that how we maintain our roads and respond to incidents are extremely important issues for drivers. By working more closely with our supply chain colleagues who carry out these activities, we will be able to work more effectively, identify innovative ways of working and provide the best possible quality of service to our customers.
“We’re committed to driving improvement and strengthening our regional expertise. We are delighted to welcome Amey to our North West Asset Delivery supply chain community and look forward to establishing a successful, long-term relationship with them.”

This approach is the basis of developing the this collaborative model with Highways England and the supply chain to deliver services for the communities of the North West.”
Additional Asset Delivery contracts are to be awarded for Design Services and the Construction Works Framework in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and South Lancashire over the coming months. Highways England will work with all successful contractors to ensure they are ready to deliver key services from April 2019.
