Interpave
About Us
Interpave is the Precast Concrete Paving and Kerb Association, promoting and developing concrete block paving, flags, kerbs and related products - ranging from domestic uses to the most taxing heavy industrial applications. It represents the UK’s leading manufacturers and is a product association of the British Precast Concrete Federation Ltd (BPCF).
Interpave is the driving force behind the development of concrete block permeable pavements as a sustainable drainage (SuDS) technique in the UK. It lobbies and works closely with government, agencies, standards bodies and other influential organisations, as well as overseas trade associations. It also instigates market research and provides technical articles and support for the construction press, as well as exhibiting at trade events such as Ecobuild 2015. Interpave, with its sister organisation Interlay, also addresses practical issues, such as training and health & safety, including promotion of mechanical handling techniques.
Central to Interpave’s activities is its paved environment resource website www.paving.org.uk/commercial providing the most comprehensive and up-to-date information on all aspects of paving for the widest possible audience including urban designers, architects, planers, local authorities and engineers. It includes a Topical Issues section, with guidance in downloadable brochure form on matters of particular importance today. A wide range of case studies and an on-line project gallery highlight the transformative power of good hard landscape design incorporating modern precast concrete paving, as well as the importance of considered detailing and execution.
Essential for all those involved with commercial projects, Interpave’s Design and Construction Information Documents – or DACIs –provide the definitive, authoritative information on concrete block and flag paving, kerbs and channels, as well as sustainable drainage systems (SUDS) and permeable paving. Information ranging from initial design, through construction and handling, to maintenance can be downloaded in PDF format. For the very latest developments in paving and hard landscape, Interpave publishes regular e:Bulletins, linked to its information resource.
