Duplex Apartments Planned for Canalside

A new duplex apartment building in Nottingham has been proposed for a site which was originally earmarked for commercial use. Elevate Property Group has revealed proposals for the building on Tinkers Lock, where it meets the River Trent.
The company is also behind the development of luxury apartments and townhouses at Trent Bridge Quays, and former Muller Yard Meadow Lane in Nottingham, and is subject to planning permission.
Elevate Property Group’s decision to create the duplex apartments was influenced by the strong demand for the 95 townhouses and apartments at the Trent Bridge Quays site, which in its first phases has already seen 60% of the site sold, and it is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Managing Director at Elevate Property Group Steve Dodd said: “We’ve come through a tough few weeks, but life has to go on, and we are seeing that the great location and inherent quality of Trent Bridge Quays and Meadow Lane is proving very attractive to buyers.
“That’s given us the confidence to progress our proposals for Tinkers Lock.
“Our new proposals for Tinkers Lock will create three beautiful riverfront duplex apartments, and they also help resolve a longstanding issue that has been in negotiation for some time.”
Original proposals for the site were for commercial use, such as offices, retail, or a café. However, with a full re-opening of cafes, pubs and restaurants still in question due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, the prospects of find tenants looked to be in doubt.
Tinkers Lock is located at the junction of Nottingham & Beetson Canal and the River Trent, with Nottingham agent FTP Waterside Living appointed to market the new homes.
