VolkerFitzpatrick Deliver Two New Warehouses

VolkerFitzpatrick is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Prologis UK, an industrial and logistics property company, to design and build two new production units at its Daventry International Rail Terminal (DIRFT) site.
Each warehouse is set to have an internal height of 18m and will be constructed from a steel frame, with a built-up cladding and roofing system. One facility will also have an internal footprint of 232,302sq ft, and the other will have an internal footprint of 281,890sq ft.
The spaces will be primarily used for goods storage and will be equipped with two-storey main office accommodation, as well as smaller hub offices, which will sit outside the warehouse perimeter.
During the project, the team will also take the steps needed to engage with the local community and minimise their environmental impact. This will include working with supply chain contractors from the surrounding area and adjusting the finished site levels during the earthworks and groundworks phase, to eliminate the removal of waste materials from the site.
Stuart Deverill, managing director of VolkerFitzpatrick’s Building division, said: “I am delighted that Prologis UK has once again chosen to work with VolkerFitzpatrick to further develop its DIRFT site. This latest appointment is testament to the strong, collaborative relationship we have built over the years and our established position in the industrial and distribution sector.”
The contract award follows VolkerFitzpatrick’s successful delivery of several industrial facilities at the DIRFT site, over the last eleven years.
Work on the project worth over £26M started in November 2021, and is set to complete in August 2022.
