A significant residential scheme in Lancashire, which includes 251 homes, has been green lit.Story Homes and Jones Homes are behind the scheme on land between Nateby Crossing Lane and the A6 in Garstang.As part of the joint venture, Story Homes will bring forward 133 homes with Jones Homes constructing the remaining 118. Of the total, 75 will be affordable.The developers will also make a number of significant community payments in line with the Section 106 Agreement totalling more than £2.8m.As part of the scheme, improvements will be made to pedestrian footways, crossing and bus stops in the local area.Martin Nugent, North West head of land and planning at Story Homes, said: “We’re delighted that Wyre Borough Council has approved our application to deliver 251 high quality new homes in Garstang. The properties at this development have been designed with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind, with internal layouts that offer modern, open plan living spaces and exterior design details that will create the unique street scenes for which Story Homes is renowned.”The scheme includes a range of one to five-bedroom homes and will deliver a number of benefits to the local community, such as the provision of open market and affordable homes, and usable areas of public open space, including an equipped play area.
