The Awarding Authority has launched its annual Patient and Public Involvement Fund offering 15 awards of £1,000 to successful groups in the region.

PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT GRANTS – COMPETITION 28

Applications are invited for Programme Development Grant funding. Programme Development Grants are designed to increase the rate and number of successful applications for a full Programme Grant by supporting the completion of the necessary preparatory work to suitably position the research team to submit a competitive Programme Grant application. Individual awards are for a maximum of £150k over a period of 12 - 24 months. The amount of funding awarded, however, is determined by the scale and nature of the research activity to be conducted.

FUNDING TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF OTHERS THROUGH CHARITABLE DONATIONS

The Awarding Authority is a registered Scottish Charitable Trust with the sole aim of improving the lives of others through charitable donations mainly in the Specified Location. Its aims are to: Promote education. Prevent or relieve poverty among those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability or financial hardship. Promote health and save lives. Promote the arts, heritage, culture and science. Promote public participation in sports. Among eligible charities are those working in the field of children and youth support as well as housing and homelessness.

2021 GSK IMPACT AWARDS – CORE FUNDING AND FREE TRAINING FOR HEALTH CHARITIES

FUNDED UNCONVENTIONAL HYDROCARBONS IN THE ENERGY SYSTEM PROGRAMME LAUNCHES – FUNDING

Up to £400,000 of funding has been allocated up to build upon the existing awarding authority funded Unconventional Hydrocarbons in the UK Energy System (UKUH) programme. The Open Call will fund projects that maximise the legacy and impact of the UKUH Programme; advance the integration of socio-economic and geoscience research; provide opportunities to increase the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) of the Programme and support Early Career Researchers (ECRs).

FUNDING FOR SKILLS CENTRE FROM LOCAL GROWTH FUND

The Awarding Authority has announced a new Government-funded project to create a teaching and training centre for the construction sector. Abingdon and Witney College’s Oxfordshire Construction Skills Academy will give young people and adults opportunities to develop the skills needed to secure employment in the county.
