New residential building topped-off at Canary Wharf

The Canary Wharf Group celebrated the topping-out of it’s new One Park Drive residential development at the site of the building on the head of South Dock at the new Wood Wharf District last week.

Achieving the topping-out of the development marks an important milestone in the progress of Wood Wharf as it is now the tallest residential building in the district, housing 483 apartments and with completion scheduled for 2020.

One Park Drive will also feature a distinct geometric façade, three unique typologies that will be unmistakable in the building’s form, a lobby with 24 hour concierge, a library, a cinema room, a lounge, and an exclusive residents only health club which, in turn, shall feature a calming space, a gym, a spa, a 20 metre swimming pool, and studio space. The amenities will all be state-of-the-art and designed by GA Design.

The first of the three unique typologies will be the loft apartments, between floors two and nine, which will feature interiors designed by Bowler James Brindley and will overlook the waterfront and building’s surrounding green space. Lofts will likewise include wraparound terraces, fluted terracotta panels, sliding walls, cool resin floors, and mother-of-pearl bathrooms.

Secondly, between floors nine and 32, there will be the cluster apartments which will form the heart of the building and will contain interiors designed by Goddard Littlefair.

And finally, between floors 33 and 57, there will be the bay apartments, similarly designed by Goddard Littlefair, with double-height terraces that will be set back into the building, concrete walls, timber panelling, pivot doors, and plenty of natural lighting.

The Director of Residential Sales at Canary Wharf Group, Brian De’ath stated: “We are thrilled to have topped out at One Park Drive. The development is our signature building at Wood Wharf and is set to become a new icon of the London skyline, offering the best in city and riverside living.

“It is an incredibly impressive structure and a real contrast to the traditional skyscrapers of Canary Wharf.

“We have also just launched the final apartments in neighbouring 10 Park Drive, so it’s a very busy and exciting time in the progress of the new neighbourhood.”

Wood Wharf is a new 23-acre district which forms part of the Canary Wharf estate and consists of reclaimed land.
