Dulcote Quarry site on market along with proposal for business park
A bid to convert the worked out Dulcote Quarry into a vast environmentally-friendly business park employing up to 800 people has been resurrected. The multi-million pound brownfield site, which extends to 67 acres, was originally granted planning permission to be turned into a business park in 2010, which was renewed three years later.Early plans for a huge eco-friendly industrial and commercial development at the quarry dried up when the global economy hit the buffers. But permission for the business park, which could bring a major boost to Mendip’s economy, remains in place.Owner Hansteen Holdings has decided to sell the site which it bought, along with a portfolio of other industrial sites, for £80 million.
