4. Description: The awarding authority invites tenders on behalf of the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board (BCUHB) for the supply of Environmental Monitoring Media. These are required for environmental monitoring of two MHRA licensed pharmaceutical production units at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, Wrexham and Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, and an unlicensed pharmaceutical production unit in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor.
BCUHB is one of the largest Health Boards in Wales and provides services for both primary and secondary care. The following media is required for use in the Hospitals:
Trypcase soy 90mm plates (TSA) – Annual usage 2170 packs of 10
Trypcase soy 55mm plates (TSA) – Annual usage 1610 packs of 10
Sabouraud detoxe 90mm plates (SDA) – Annual usage 1100 packs of 10
Sabouraud detoxe 55mm plates (SDA) – Annual usage 1320 packs of 10
In addition to the above they also require:
R2A 90mm plates for analysis of water samples – Annual usage 78 packs of 10

The contract period will be for three years with the option to extend for further 12 months.
