New shops and homes approved for the centre of Northamptonshire market town
Shops, cafes, houses and flats, have been approved for a redevelopment in the heart of Towcester.The next stage of the Moat Lane development and regeneration of Towcester town centre has been given the green light by South Northamptonshire Council’s Development Control Committee.The planning application, which was submitted by Towcester Regeneration Ltd, is an amendment to an original planning application approved in July 2013 for the commercial phase of the Moat Lane regeneration.The plans comprise a convenience store, shops and cafes, as well as houses and flats across Whittons Lane and Bakers Lane.South Northamptonshire Council said new proposal takes account of market and economic changes, as well as changes to the original designs to improve the character and appearance of the conservation area.
