Apartment vision for Harrogate office
An office located next to one of Harrogate’s most prominent buildings could be redeveloped into an apartment complex as the current occupier plans a relocation of its operations in the spa town.AQA Education, which has offices across the UK, is the largest provider of academic qualifications taught in schools and colleges, setting and marking papers for about half of all GCSEs and A-levels taken every year.Acting on behalf of the charity, property consultancy Savills has submitted documents to the council regarding a change of use of AQA’s L-shaped building on Springfield Avenue where it has been based since 1993.The 27,700 sq ft property, located next to the mirror-clad Harrogate International Conference Centre, was built in the 1980s and incorporates lower ground, ground and first floor accommodation.Plans are in place to develop 30 apartments across all three floors.
