£50m investment to enable innovation quarter
A £50m funding package has been agreed to develop the proposed Swansea Waterfront Innovation Quarter in the city’s SA1 area.The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) has secured the investment from HSBC for the development in the city’s SA1 area.This will include more than 130,000 sq ft of purpose-built facilities for learning, teaching and applied research, as well as social, leisure and wider recreational spaces.The university also expects the scheme to facilitate collaborative projects with other organisations which want to be located adjacent to the development and act as a stimulus to economic regeneration of the SA1 waterfront area.
