?650 more houses on the horizon for thriving estate in Gloucester
Large-scale growth of a Gloucester suburb is nearing completion as plans to build another 650 houses have moved a step closer to development.Kingsway has been transformed beyond recognition over the last decade and work will start on the latest phase of housing off Naas Lane now conditions for planning permission have been satisfied.A spokesman for planning agent Pegasus Group said work to ensure the planned gardens on the site of the former RAF sites will be safe for residential use has been carried out.Planning permission was granted for a total of 3,300 houses in Kingsway in September 2007 and more than 2,000 of these have now been built.As well as new houses, two primary schools, a community centre, shops and a pub, a new Asda store with a filling station have also been built in Kingsway.There is also a new sports pavilion and pitches, tennis courts, a BMX track and parks planned for the new estate.
