100 new homes on the horizon at Wynyard Park
One of the country’s biggest house builders hopes to win permission for a new 100-home development at Wynyard.Taylor Wimpey UK and Wynyard Park Limited have submitted a joint planning application to Hartlepool Borough Council for 109 houses off the A689.The proposed site is a pentagon-shaped piece of land at the western end of Wynyard Park which was allocated by planners for employment nine years ago.The developers say because of this the housing proposal goes against the policies of the current Hartlepool Local Plan. The new development is proposed to be made up of 64 four-bedroom homes, 35 five-bed properties and ten three-bed houses. The applicants say there is a “pressing need” for more high quality, larger family houses to in the area. The statement adds a Flood Risk Assessment has shown that the site is not at risk of flooding and would not increase the risk of flooding elsewhere, and that a well designed drainage system will take care of foul and surface water.
