First stage in planning process for new Aberdeen FC stadium begins
Aberdeen FC has got the ball rolling on plans to relocate its homeground to the outskirts of the city.The Dons have submitted a proposal of application notice as it seeks to relocate from Pittodrie to a £40million stadium at Kingsford, between Westhill and Kingswells.The club announced its submission for the new community and sports campus, football academy and stadium on the border between Aberdeen city and shire.The application has been sent to Aberdeen City Council, along with the Kingswells, Westhill and Elrick, Cults, Bieldside and Milltimber community councils.The documents cement Aberdeen FC’s plans to submit a full planning application later in the year, following a 12-week consultation period.
