£1.5m invested in improving older persons homes
A £1.5m project to transform an older people’s housing scheme has got underway.Merlin has started work to remodel its Buckingham House independent living scheme in Filton to improve facilities for customers. At present the building is made up of 20 flats, eight of which are bedsits. Over the course of the next 12 months, the eight existing bedsits and the former warden’s flat will be converted into six new one bedroom flats.Merlin has appointed CLC Group to carry out the work to the 35-year-old building. CLC will co-ordinate the work from their Bristol office. The work will be happening while seven residents remain living at the scheme and is expected to be completed in summer 2017.
