Hundreds view £9m Clitheroe Market plans
Hundreds have turned out to view provisional plans for the £9m redevelopment of Clitheroe Market.The plans and artists’ impressions were unveiled in the Ribble Valley Borough Council chamber last Friday (22 July 2016). And interest in the scheme to date has been so high that the exhibition will now open late on Tuesday, 2 and Thursday, 4 August.Ribble Valley Borough Council’s policy and finance committee agreed its intention to award the contract to redevelop the 1.4-acre Clitheroe Market site to contractor, investor and developer Barnfield Construction late last year.The three-year scheme, which features a 60-bed hotel, retail and leisure units, 56-space car park and revamped market with a hall, 34 cabins and 19 stalls, is intended to bring a new lease of life to the market and attract top retailers.
