Plans in for 400 homes near Bentley HQ
Plans are in to create 400 homes, including a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, near the Crewe headquarters of luxury carmaker Bentley. The Fairfield Partnership has submitted an outline planning application to Cheshire East Council for a 400-home scheme on fields at Flowers Lane to the north-west of Crewe town centre. Luxury carmaker Bentley is 1.5km to the south-west while Leighton Hospital is 300 metres to the west. The site, which extends to 60.3 acres, is bisected by two high-voltage overhead lines. It is envisaged that the plot would incorporate a mix of residential, education, green space and highway infrastructure. This comprises two areas of development either side of a central green corridor containing electricity pylons that would be used as informal public open space. The applicant is proposing a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, while 30 per cent of the properties would be affordable homes.A design and access statement in support of the application has been prepared by JB Planning Associates on behalf of the Fairfield Partnership.
