II.1.4) Short Description: The South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is a top 20 UK college, aiming to be a world class College by 2020 and has been described as the ‘cutting edge’ College of the Northern Ireland Further Education sector. SERC has over 30 000 enrolments each year and partnerships with over 1 100 companies including BT, Bombardier, Coca Cola and Canyon Europe. South Eastern Regional College services the geographical area of Holywood, Bangor, Newtownards, Lisburn, Ballynahinch, Downpatrick and Newcastle. The School of Hospitality is a Grade 1 School therefore they are seeking to appoint a Contractor with the capability and capacity to supply and deliver Fresh Fruit and Vegetables which meet all industry and educational standards in order to maintain these awards. The contract will commence in August 2016 and will remain in force for 2 years, with a possible 2 further 1 year extensions subject to satisfactory performance and agreement between the parties.

The successful contractor’s performance on the contract will be regularly monitored. Contractors not delivering on contract requirements is a serious matter. It means the public purse is not getting what it is paying for. If a contractor fails to reach satisfactory levels of contract performance they will be given a specified time to improve. If, after the specified time, they still fail to reach satisfactory levels of contract performance, the matter will be escalated to senior management in CPD for further action. If this occurs and their performance still does not improve to satisfactory levels within the specified period, it may be regarded as an act of grave professional misconduct and they may be issued with a Certificate of Unsatisfactory Performance and the contract may be terminated.
