Liverpool student accommodation gets green light
A six- to eight-storey student accommodation development close to Liverpool city centre has been granted planning approval.Located at 33 Devon Street, the building sits within the city’s “Knowledge Quarter” and will feature 162 studio apartments and four ground-floor commercial units.The scheme, being developed by YPG Developments, aims to regenerate a derelict site. It lies to the north of the University of Liverpool’s main campus just south of the A580. It is also a short walk from Liverpool John Moores University’s city campus.The development has been designed by Liverpool-based design practice Smith Young.Devon Street marks the second planning approval Knight Frank has secured for YPG Developments in recent weeks with a scheme of apartments and townhouses on Hurst Street, located within the Liverpool World Heritage Site, also being approved.
