Farm’s plans for 40 new stables given green light by Castle Point Council
Plans to transform an island farm have been approved by Castle Point Council.Proposals to build 40 stables, hay stores, a garage, an office and two menages at Sluice Farm, in Haven Road, on Canvey were given the green light unanimously at a planning meeting. The proposals for the farm, owned by Keith and Jane King, were also supported by council officers. This came despite the project being on green belt land, and the Environment Agency’s initial objections on flood risk grounds due to the farm’s proximity to the tidal defences and main river. The objections were subsequently withdrawn by the agency.
