Nod for Robinsons Chesterfield scheme
Packaging manufacturer Robinson has received the green light to build a residential and commercial scheme in Chesterfield. The company lodged outline plans to revamp 15 acres at the Boythorpe Works and eight acres at the Walton Works site on Factory Road in December 2015.The hybrid application proposed the restoration and conversion of the grade II-listed Walton Works into four ground floor retail units and 26 apartments. Mill Terrace will also be transformed into 11 homes with parking.Outline proposals were also submitted for additional housing, two retail units and a pub.The plans were given the green light by Chesterfield Borough Council’s planning committee earlier this week. The planning approval comes after Robinson revealed revenue is set to hit £27.5m for the year to 31 December 2016, a fall of 5.6 per cent of the previous year. The company said the fall was down to lost business and a lower demand for goods.
