New jobs and investment at Wetherby business park
Harrogate-based developer Marrtree Investments has been given planning consent to build 19,000 sq ft of business units at the Thorpe Arch Trading Estate near Wetherby in a move which is expected to create 50 jobs.Construction of the £1.7m scheme, which will be known as Marrtree Business Park @ Thorpe Arch Trading Estate, will get underway in spring this year and is due for completion by December.Comprising seven separate units across two buildings, with accommodation ranging from 2,000 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft, the scheme follows on from the success of Marrtree’s 20,000 sq ft development at St James’ Business Park, Knaresborough.Marrtree Business Park, St James was completed in 2014 and is now fully let to eight businesses including Enterprise Rent-A-Car, prestige car retailer Redline Racing, and pet care supplier Redcape.Founded by Frank Marshall in Bradford in the 1940s, and now run by his grandsons, brothers William and George Marshall, the Marrtree Group of companies has operated for more than 60 years. With interests in commercial and residential property, quarrying and forestry, the business is now based at Cardale Park in Harrogate.
