£6m funding for Newbury Station improvements
West Berkshire Council in partnership with Great Western Railway (GWR) has been awarded more than £6m to revamp passenger facilities at Newbury Station.The allocation follows an assessment of the proposals by the Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) with the funding coming from the government’s decision to award the LEP £35m in its latest Growth Deal.The Newbury Station scheme is designed to improve connections between rail and walking, cycling and public transport.
