Centrica commissions WSP for King’s Lynn replant
WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff has been appointed owner’s engineer on Centrica’s King’s Lynn gas-fired power station in Norfolk.King’s Lynn power station is to be repowered with a new 370MW gas turbine that should be ready for commercial operation in 2019. Some 250 jobs are expected to be created during construction.WSP’s appointment follows Centrica’s success in the recent capacity market auction held at the end of 2016. WSP will deliver engineering management, programme and design review, and supervise the construction of the new works at the power station from start through to delivery, as well as oversee the quality of equipment manufactured offsite.
