£7m hotel plans revealed
Plans to build a £7m hotel in Derry/Londonderry have been revealed.The Duddy Group’s Holiday Inn Express will be located on the corner of Strand Road and Great James Street.It would include 116 bedrooms, two meeting rooms, three retails units and a Marco Pierre New York Italian Restaurant, and be expected to cater for up to 40,000 guests a year.The project is being supported by Invest NI and the Department for Communities, which have offered £724,000 and £475,000 respectively. The scheme has also secured £1m of mezzanine funding from Whiterock Capital through Invest NI’s Access to Finance strategy.
