Plans approved for Durham Tees Valley Airport project
Durham Tees Valley Airport has hailed the “very positive” decision made by Darlington councillors to grant planning permission for a series of on-site developments.The proposals backed yesterday afternoon are for works on land to the north of the airport.These include building 350 homes and a local services centre for use by retailers, financial and professional services firms, restaurants and other leisure facilities.The proposals are part of the airport’s wider masterplan to secure its long-term future.In a statement following the decision, Durham Tees Valley bosses recognised the importance of the developments securing planning permission, with the hope being that the project puts it on a “more secure footing”.
