HSBC funding supports new B&B
Funding from HSBC has supported the conversion of a grade II-listed building in Gwynedd previously used for student accommodation into a five-star luxury bed and breakfast.Crown Lodge was built in 1903 for Thomas More, the Crown agent for Wales. Between 1949 and 2014 it was owned by Harlech College and used to accommodate students. The property was acquired by Linda and Mark Rosser in 2016. A six-figure commercial mortgage from HSBC supported the purchase and the renovation of the building.Since the acquisition, 11 bedrooms have been reduced to four luxury letting rooms and private accommodation for the couple, who have restored the property to re-introduce many of its original features. The opening of the bed and breakfast has created one full- and one part-time job.
