5. Description: The awarding authority wishes to purchase a single axis vibration exciter (shaker) and associated power amplifier to be used in our new windtunnel on the specified location. This equipment is to enhance the experimental facilities of the IMPACT (Innovative Materials, Processing and Numerical Technologies) Research Institute. The shaker should be able to drive structures in free body and fixed body modes of operation. The shaker will be installed on the top (inverted shaker) and/or on the side of windtunnel working section. The shaker will be external to the windtunnel and Swansea University will manufacture the support structure; however it is expected that the shaker has mounting holes that can be bottled to the support. The shaker will oscillate wing structures within the working section and hence should ideally be able to resist a bending moment of 300Nm. A plate with threaded holes will be required to bolt the wing structures to the shaker
