Green light for Trinity Leeds rooftop restaurant and bar
Plans for a new rooftop restaurant and bar at Trinity Leeds have been granted full planning permission, with the proposed venture expected to create about 70 jobs. The proposal could pave the way for a “major prospective tenant” to move into the centre, although the identity of the occupier has not yet been revealed. The 15,000 sq ft development would be on the top floor of Trinity Leeds which was previously occupied by Boots and above this, a decked roof terrace of 2,500 sq ft overlooking Bond Street is also planned.Access to the roof terrace would be achieved by a dedicated lift from either street level or the main restaurant unit, and via “feature” stairs. The proposed restaurant use is expected to add to Trinity Leeds’s overall leisure offer and have natural synergies with the adjacent leisure and restaurant uses, including Trinity Kitchen as well as the wider retail uses within the shopping centre. The council planning officer’s report, said: “The proposed use would introduce a new entrance at ground floor level and some additional visual interest to the upper floors through the introduction of the balcony.
