Stepnell awarded student development contract
Construction company Stepnell has been hired to build a multimillion-pound student accommodation development in Leicester.The scheme will transform former commercial buildings on the corner of West Walk and Princess Road East to provide 85 studio rooms with en-suites. It will also comprise a gym, cinema room, common room, study pods and laundry facilities.As part of the project, two Victorian buildings will be restored and a 20th century structure will be demolished.The development is being led by Zone and was designed by MAS Architecture. Completion is scheduled for 2018.Stepnell is also working on Zone’s four-storey Princess Road East development, which will provide 110 student bedrooms for September 2017.
