New plan for 80 homes in Ayr
Proposals to build 80 new homes in Ayr could be submitted to the council’s planning department.A pre-planning application to develop houses on McCalls Avenue and Britannia Place were submitted on April 13 but were withdrawn following privacy concerns.Last week, members of the Newton and Heathfield community council received another letter informing them of a similar proposal in the area which they wish to consider. South Ayrshire Council’s local development plan sets out strategic spatial priorities and policies for South Ayrshire and will secure land for specified uses including housing and industry. They aim to provide certainty for development. The local development plan replaced the South Ayrshire local plan and the Ayrshire joint structure plan. Developers who want to build new homes on McCalls Avenue and Britannia Place have informed South Ayrshire Council planning department of their proposals.Discussions will be held with residents, regarding the idea, to establish if the plans would be supported. There will be consultations with the community council as well as residents who will have a chance to ask questions.Provided the application for McCalls Avenue and Britannia Place goes ahead, it will be assessed and a decision will be made.
