New business park set for home of British Grand Prix
Outline plans to construct a major new business park at Silverstone Park, the home of the British Grand Prix, have been given the green light in a move that could bring thousands of jobs and millions of pounds in investment to the area.Silverstone Park is currently homes to more than 70 businesses which employ 750 staff and occupy 400,000 sq ft of space.The new scheme, led by MEPC, will reflect the venue’s location at the heart of the Silverstone Technology Cluster.Council planners agreed to a broad mix of uses for the new site, which could comprise office space, industrial and distribution facilities, student accommodation and two hotels. It will span more than two million sq ft.MEPC was supported by planning and design consultancy Terence O’Rourke, which worked closely with South Northamptonshire Council and Aylesbury Vale District Council.
