Plans in for Hants housing scheme
Proposals for a new housing development in a village in southern Hampshire have been lodged with the local council.Bargate Homes has submitted an outline planning application for the construction of up to 140 residential dwellings, of which up to 40 per cent will be affordable, at Brook Lane in Warsash to Fareham Borough Council. The scheme also includes access from Brook Lane and brings forward community benefits including new public open space and a children’s play area to serve both new and existing residents. The application site is located approximately 7.5 kilometres west of Fareham town centre and 9 kilometres south east of Southampton. It comprises approximately 13.5 acres of predominately rough grassland and the remains of former horticultural buildings. In a design and access statement lodged with Fareham Borough Council, Bargate Homes said the application scheme offers the opportunity to deliver “a structured, distinctive and attractive semi-urban environment which respects the local landscape character”.The application was validated on 30 June by the local authority, with a decision expected to be made by the end of September 2017.
