Police station set for demolition to make way for flats
The former Police Station in Port Talbot is set to be demolished to make way for a new residential development.The development of the site in the Lower Station Road area of Port Talbot town centre is being undertaken by Pobl Group. Work is now underway on the site to prepare for the demolition of the existing building.Once completed, the redevelopment project will comprise 30 new apartments and three commercial units.The £4m investment is one of a number of projects in Neath Port Talbot Council’s Regeneration programme, with more than £35m set to be invested in and around the town centre, partly funded by the Welsh Government’s Vibrant and Viable Places Programme. The demolition and site clearance work is expected to last up to 14 weeks, with completion of the development expected by the end of 2018.
