Short description of the contract or purchase(s): This procurement exercise is to appoint suitable Operators to a framework to provide transport for a 3 (three) year period from 1.9.2014 to 31.8.2017 with an option to extend for one year i.e. a total of 4 years. The framework agreement will consist of a list of operators who can be approached as and when transport needs are required. The requirements within this document will form the basis for all future orders within the contract period.
The scope of this framework agreement includes:
– Home to School transport for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
– Transport for post 16 students with additional needs
– Transport for Older People
– Transport for Looked After Children
– Transport for Adults with Additional needs
– Transport for other vulnerable people (including, but not limited to Homelessness)
– Ad Hoc taxi requirements.
The aim of the framework is to provide an efficient, reliable and safe transport service that provides value for money for children and adults with additional needs, from their place of residence to the schools and/or day care services and other establishments, predominantly within the Walsall area, although some out of borough services are required.
