Plans lodged for Icknield Port Loop phase one
Detailed plans have been submitted for the first phase of the Icknield Port Loop regeneration, which will comprise hundreds of homes.Developers Urban Splash and Places for People are working with landowners Canal & River Trust and Birmingham City Council.The first phase of work on the 43-acre site will include 207 terraced homes, 90 apartments, two new public parks and canalside space.Macreanor Lavington, ShedKM, Glenn Howells Architects and Grant Associates worked on the plans. The submission follows a public exhibition in March, which was attended by 200 local residents.The masterplan for the Icknield Port Loop includes the development of up to 1,150 homes, as well as commercial, retail and leisure facilities.
