Plans approved for Sunderland development
Plans to build a residential development in Sunderland have been given the green light.The Shiney Row scheme will comprise 18 family homes, six one-bedroom flats, more than 40 parking spaces and landscaping on the former industrial site, with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) contributing £768,000.The £2.5m project is being worked on by Karbon Homes, which was founded in April this year from a merger between Isos Housing, Cestria Community Housing and Derwentside Homes.The 1.35-acre site, which has remained vacant for several years, was once home to the Penshaw Foundry before falling into disuse after the First World War.
