Green light for new Dover leisure centre
Proposals for a new multimillion-pound leisure centre in the coastal Kent town of Dover have been given the green light.Planning consent has been granted for a new £26m Dover Leisure at Whitfield.The final go-ahead for the project will be considered at a special meeting of Dover District Council’s cabinet on 11 September.The leisure centre will feature a competition standard eight-lane swimming pool with spectator seating for 250 people, learner pool with moveable floor, four court sports hall, squash courts, multi-function room, fitness gym, fitness studios, clip ‘n’ climb wall, and a café. The plans also include two outdoor 3G artificial pitches for five-a-side football and a minimum of 250 parking spaces.
